Thank you all for coming to our first ever themed quiz and the first ever quiz in my backyard! It was a ton of fun and we can’t wait to do our next one. Sure we ran out of beer and we didn’t have enough time to get that goat for the photobooth. But the bologna sandwiches were plentiful and so was the awesomeness.
Check out the amazing crowd we had:
Wow! And this was before the quiz even started.
As you can see, I had a bit of stage fright.
We started off with round 1, the first round. This first round was Wet Hot 101. An introduction to the film with some simpler questions for those of you who haven’t watched the film 8 times in the week leading up to the quiz. It might’ve been a little too easy though, because four teams got a perfect 10 and no one scored less than 8. Also, a huge thank you to Zak Orth for providing us with his video bonus questions. If you weren’t there to check it out, you can see it below:
Round 2 was a little tougher, all music featured in Wet Hot and various other projects from David Wain and Michael Showalter. Arts & Farts & Crafts had an amazingly perfect 20 points on this round. But pretty much everyone scored over 10.
Round 3, The Actors round was a toughy, but Victor Pulak’s Big Mistake was able to score 11 a few teams fell as low as 6, but thats okay guys. Just study a little better next time.
Round 4, the Memory Round was an interesting one. Rather than test your knowledge of the film, we tested your ability to retain knowledge on the film. Can we move this alone? I’m late for schule got the idea and led the pack with 7 points. But most everyone scored at least 5.
Round 5, easily the hardest (or at least lowest scoring round of the evening) was all about my personal hero David Wain and his various projects. Plus, the highlight of the event (in my humble opinion) was having David Wain himself ask a video bonus question. Check it out:
During our post Round 5, scoring break, we decided to have a bit of a talent show. And what talented people you are.
First up, some kid we thought was a loser until he literally blew us all away with his amazing wind-making ability.
Next was the incredible hand clapy singy girl.
Next up was the Great American leg jumper guy
The amazing “I can out-drink anyone” girl! Can she do it?
She can!
This girl had a talent so great, she truly could get a job with the circus. She had the ability to turn her leg nearly 180º
Our hilarious chef Gene telling one of his favorite jokes.
A wonderful vocal performance of everyones favorite musical score Day Bidet
Finally, no talent show would be complete without a Master Broom Balancer
After our talent show concluded, we hopped right into our final round #6 Wet Hot Hard. This was the round that would really separate the counselors from the campers. All but two teams really impressed me by scoring more than 15 points. Late for Schule managed to take the lead with 19 and only 2 teams scored low and are banned from quizzing forever because of it. You are such a disappointment… Lets see your winners!
It was a bit too hectic to take winning photos but heres the best we could do.
1st – Arts & Farts & Crafts
2nd place – Can we move this along? I’m late for schule.
3d place – Cigarette Smokin’ Pieces if Shit
Thank you guys so much for coming. Even though it was our smallest and the free beer wasn’t as plentiful as normal, I still think this was one of my favorite events we’ve ever thrown. Keep checking back our next event is coming up soon.
