So it was a bit on the wet side last night, but you guys still showed up in full force ready for some great quiz action. And, I have to say, as much as I hate that new wall for the restaurant, the food is pretty damn good.
We started things off with a pleasant little round about everyones favorite movie about singing nuns, Sister Act. The round also focused on some sisters and some acts… I wonder what Tia and Tamera are up to nowadays? Dixon Cider cleaned house on this one with a near perfect 9, but Team Apollo was close by with 8.
Round 2, Hey Now, was your audio round. Real Steel Magnolias led the pack with an astounding 19, but most every team scored at least 14.
The 3rd round of the evening Current Events was all about, you know, stuff that happened in the past week or so. Steve Jobs, Occupy Wall Street, Cantaloupe, Anwar al Awlaki… that stuff. Team Apollo you were our leaders this round with 10, everyone else did well with at least 7, but Sparkle Motion, come on guys, you could’ve done way better than 4.
Our beloved picture round was all about Controlling the World. Or game controllers at least. I don’t think I know anyone who owned an Intellevision system, but Dixon Cider must have been a privileged child since they scored 7 of 8 points.
Round 5, Before & After inspired by one of my favorite Jeopardy categories. I thought this one would be really tough, but you all made me so proud. Two teams scored 9 points and only one of you dropped below 5.
General Knowledge. The final round that decides it all… Real Steel Magnolias blew everyone away with 17 points. Lowest was an 8, most hovered in the 12-pt range. Lets meet your winners!
